Everyone knows that cost of transportation services of all types have greatly increased landed cost of raw materials and finished products. Most C-level executives understand that we are one 911 away from catastrophic increases in these costs. However, they do not understand that there are procedures (if undertaken now) which can position their businesses well ahead of the pack when transportation costs hit the stratosphere. But few implement these protocols. Why is it that such a huge line item is being neglected by otherwise forward-thinking businesses?
