You can browse FutureMonitor™ and learn about business concerns on the 2-year horizon by listening in on the discussions, but the FutureMonitor™ experiment won't work unless people offer their thoughts, observations, and evaluations. Join up!
IMPORTANT: In order to begin playing your role, you have to register and check YES when asked to "accept terms" (it's legal stuff; everyone has it).
A word about your "public profile" (under "account" after you register): We've asked only the minimum about your background, because we wanted to make FutureMonitor™ easy to join. (Why ask anything? Because collective intelligence requires diversity of input to work, and we want to know that we're reaching a global network.) But as the community grows you'll find it very beneficial to have more information about yourself visible to others so they understand your perspective. We encourage you to enrich your profile as soon as you can.

How to contribute? Here are the ways (if you want, you can follow the links to fuller descriptions that have been posted in the Start Here forum):
- Add a new topic in a discussion forum (such as the Emerging Topics forum) or add a reply in any topic discussion.
- Submit a 'SEEN' photo (a snapshot of something that raised questions about the future).
- Submit an Asimov Moment (an observation that made you think, 'That's funny....')
- Vote in a poll or Subject Sort as they appear alongside discussions.
- Comment on an entry in the blog, The Experiment So Far.
- Browse the site until you find a topic you have questions or observations about, then contribute your ideas in one of the ways above. Want a descriptive guide to FutureMonitor's™ parts? Find it here.

Almost everything about FutureMonitor™ is an ambitious experiment--in near-term trend spotting, business-audience community building, and the application of Wisdom-of-Crowds, collective-intelligence methodologies. The site is new, and will remain in beta for a good while. That makes you one of the earliest visitors and members--one of the pioneers.
Next for FutureMonitor™? You can expect "continuous improvement"--frequent tinkerings, enhancements, and some major new additions such as prediction markets, tagging, and interesting graphical interfaces. Many of them will come in response to what we learn from you.
A special request: help us make FutureMonitor™ better, both technically and in terms of content. We've already revised the site extensively in response to suggestions from early private testers. Now you'll find a button on the upper right of every page--"Suggestions?"--that will open a field for you to type advice, comments, criticisms, or questions to us in a forum that all can see. Don't censor yourself. Weigh in!
